Train Your Spiritual Muscles
Though social media is full of incredible physical transformations that come from the benefits of training your natural muscles, the Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 4:8 that "bodily exercise profiteth little". How is that possible, you ask, when medical science has proven that regular weekly exercise can reduce your risk for many diseases, prolong your life and improve your quality of life? That sounds like a lot of profit!
But consider the full verse:
~ 1 Timothy 4:8
Exercising your body can produce great results, but they are temporary. Spiritual exercise produces eternal results! When you are old and gray headed, or even when you've passed from this life to the next, your spiritual exercise will still be producing results.
One of the best ways to physically exercise is to follow a routine, and to repeatedly do the work to build strength whether you feel like it or not. In fact, doing the work even when you don't feel like it is the secret to most of the results. A lot of the time you aren't going to feel like exercising. Setting a plan, tracking your habits, and re-evaluating your routine periodically are all very valuable techniques to get good exercise results.
Let's apply that to the spiritual. Do you have a plan to get stronger spiritually? Do you keep track of your spiritual exercise that builds strength even when you don't feel like exercising? Do you re-evaluate your progress periodically to see if you're growing in Christ?
At Choose Digital Holiness, we want to help you get those eternal gains by encouraging spiritual exercise. We've developed a spiritual habit tracker that lets you set daily or weekly habits for yourself, then check them off as you complete them. This gives you an easy way to set a plan and track your progress. Periodically you can review how your habits are going, looking at the progress tab to see how you did over the week, month, or year.
Along the way, you'll be rewarded with different levels of progress, and you'll unlock achievement badges for consistent habit streaks. You'll grow spiritually stronger, and you'll be able to see how far you've come from adding a few simple habits into your daily routine. Habits like Bible reading, time in prayer, attending church services, and many more are great ways to strengthen your walk with God.
We encourage you to give it a try and see how far you'll grow! God bless you as we continue the journey in Christ.
